A small Franklin, KY grain-to-glass distillery making double-pot-distilled Linkumpinch Bourbon from local grain, named for a historic dueling site. Its Bottled in Bond Bourbon earned a Platinum Award at Fred Minnick's ASCOT Awards and was included in his Top 100 American Whiskey list.

The flagship's distiller and the 10th-oldest licensed distillery in Kentucky (DSP-KY-10, founded 1885 in Owensboro), revived in 2020 under eighth-generation distiller Jacob Call. Its Kentucky Wheated Bourbon was named Best Bourbon in the World at the 2025 New York World Spirits Competition, building on a historic legacy that included a gold medal and "best of show" at the 1900 Paris Exposition. Its Kentucky straight bourbon is made with 21% rye and usually a favorite in every bar and competition.

The first true grain-to-glass distillery to open in Austin, Texas since Prohibition, using only Texas-grown grains and a 42-foot column still named "Nancy." All of its flagship expressions — Straight Bourbon, Straight Rye, Cask Strength Bourbon, and Cask Strength Rye — are San Francisco Double Gold winners.

An independent Newport, KY distillery known for its uncompromising standard of "Bottled in Bond without chill filtration" and a genuinely high-rye mashbill. Its flagship Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon was just named World's Best Bourbon at the 2026 World Whiskies Awards.

Set on the meticulously restored 1887 Old Taylor Distillery (founded by E.H. Taylor, the "father of the modern bourbon industry"), the property took four years and $20 million to restore and is now a National Register landmark known for its grain-to-bottle bourbon, rye, and gin. Its six-year Small Batch Bourbon earned 2025 Gold Medals from the ASCOT Awards, New York International Spirits Competition, and International Wine & Spirits Competition, while its Restoration Rye has collected Double Gold and San Francisco golds.

A newer Muhlenberg County, KY distillery on a sprawling former-coal-country farm in Paradise, making sweet-mash wheated bourbon in copper pot stills from locally grown grains. Its wheated bourbon recently won Double Gold at The Fifty Best blind tasting, and it was welcomed as the 50th craft member of the Kentucky Distillers' Association.

A modern Kentucky powerhouse famous for its award-winning Collaborative and Discovery Series, blending and finishing whiskey with world-class wineries, breweries, and even India's Amrut single malt. Origin series has a line up of wheated Bourbon, high wheated bourbon, rye bourbon and a rye whiskey that have all earned numerous Medals at the New York World Spirits Competition, and the distillery is now part of Lofted Spirits alongside Green River.

A Hopkinsville, KY craft distillery built around master stillmaker Casey Jones's legendary square copper pot stills (Al Capone reputedly favored his moonshine), now run by grandson "AJ" Jones. Its Bourbon swept the 2023 ACSA Heartland Whiskey Competition with Best in Show, Best in State, and Best Four Grain Whiskey, and its moonshine has won Platinum at the ASCOT Awards.

A Denver, Colorado "no shortcuts" distillery using 100% Colorado heirloom grains and open-air, on-grain fermentation, and the first Colorado distillery to produce a bottled-in-bond whiskey. It is home to the 2024 World's Best Small Batch Bourbon (World Whiskies Awards), and its Bonded San Luis Valley Rye has won 20+ medals including a San Francisco Double Gold.

A Sparta, KY distillery carrying an eleven-generation distilling lineage dating to the mid-1700s, using rare triple-pot distillation and wild Appalachian yeast. Its spirits have won three consecutive San Francisco Double Golds and the only Platinum medal ever awarded by that competition, and it's the only U.S. distillery to win Double Gold for absinthe. Their wheated and rye mashbills have heard praises for centuries.

A Danville, KY distillery founded by two fermentation scientists, and the first in Kentucky to use sweet mash as its sole mashing technique. Its flagship was the first bottled-in-bond, wheated, sweet mash bourbon released in Kentucky since Prohibition; it was named the official 18th stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and earned multiple San Francisco golds.

A rare true estate distillery in Fallon, Nevada, where fifth-generation farmers grow 100% of their corn, rye, wheat, and barley on-site. It was named "Most Awarded Distillery of the Year" at the 2025 ASCOT Awards, adding to multiple San Francisco Double Golds.

A Three Oaks, Michigan distillery housed in the historic Featherbone corset factory, and one of the few certified-organic and certified-kosher grain-to-bottle distilleries in the U.S. Its handcrafted whiskeys, gins, and rums are widely award-winning and made entirely on-site from local organic grains.

New York City's oldest operating whiskey distillery, founded in 2010 in the Brooklyn Navy Yard and distilling exclusively its own whiskey from New York grain. It was named Distillery of the Year in 2016 by the American Distilling Institute and has earned San Francisco Double Golds and Best-of-Category for its Bottled-in-Bond bourbon.

An Iowa grain-to-glass distillery in Osceola, born from a Kentucky Bourbon Festival visit, using locally sourced Iowa corn and rye on a custom Vendome still. It earned Triple Gold (the competition's top award) for its Honey Whiskey and Whiskey & Cream Liqueur at the Micro Liquor Spirit Awards, plus golds for its gins.

The world's #1-selling bourbon, made by the Beam family across seven generations using the same mash bill proportions for more than 220 years and the same yeast colony for decades. Jim Beam Black won the Bourbon Trophy at the 2016 International Wine & Spirit Competition, one of that competition's highest single-category honors.

Known for its high-malt mashbills and signature slow-cut proofing process that preserves delicate flavor compounds. Its master distiller Greg Metze — a 40-year industry veteran — was named Master Distiller/Master Blender of the Year at the 2024 Icons of Whisky Awards.

A Nashville-based experimental distillery that throws out the rulebook, distilling unusual grains and smoked malts in a pre-Prohibition-style pot still. It has amassed over 800 medals and dozens of international awards, headlined by its flagship Triple Smoke, named Artisan Whiskey of the Year by Whisky Advocate.

Kentucky's first modern, completely "grain to glass" craft distillery (Pembroke, 2009), bottling pre-Prohibition-style whiskey uncut and non-chill-filtered from local white corn, including a distinctive Dark Fired Bourbon smoked like local dark-fired tobacco. It won multiple Gold Medals and Best in Category at the 2023 ASCOT Awards for its Barker's Mill Bottled in Bond Bourbon and Kentucky Straight Corn Whiskey.

A Lawrenceburg, KY institution home to the Russells — Jimmy Russell, the longest-tenured active master distiller in the world, and his son Eddie, the only active father-and-son master distiller duo. Both are Kentucky Bourbon Hall of
Fame members, and Jimmy holds the KDA's Parker Beam Lifetime Achievement Award, with the highly awarded Russell's Reserve line as their signature.

An additive-free, family-owned tequila (NOM 1588) from the highlands of Arandas, Jalisco, made by the Bañuelos family. It uses a "low and slow" cooking process, custom stainless pot stills, and an unusually long seven-day open-air fermentation, with three generations of expertise as its calling card.
